Got the opportunity to try out the new Konker 200 SM. I was skeptical of the chinese bikes having seen many over the years. This bike in particular is very interesting . The engine is a Suzuki DR 200 . The carburetor is a Japanese Mikuni found on every bike made from Japan.
We took the bike on the Newbie dualsport ride on Sunday in Chilliwack.
The mods we made were , dualsport tires 17" , Protaper handle bars , Acerbis hand guards and a LED tail light ( more for the looks ).
On the ride we went on all the hard options . The bike worked great went up and over anything we tried to make it go over . Its a good entry level trail bike . The seat height is only 31" so it feels tiny. It was fun in single track the only complained was at high speed 80kmh on dirt hitting foot deep ruts would bottom out the front forks which with some mods I think I can fix that.
ON the road it can cruise at 80kmh no problem. 100 kmh its high in the RPM but is do able for quick rips on the highway.
Its fun as hell around the streets of Vancouver . You can goof around on back streets and allies all day. Its no match for a 450 supermoto but its still fun.
Over all quality is good . The engine and trans are run smooth as silk , brakes are good everything works. It even has a digital thing telling you what gear your in.
For $2999 its a good deal. With a Suzuki engine you can't go wrong. It also get 100 mpg.
If anyone wants to demo one we have 2 at the shop for a while. Try it out see what you thing.
