Just realized that this weekend is a long weekend (Friday off) and if the weather stays halfway decent it might be fun to do an overnight to Merritt or Kamloops for a nice short spring tour. (weather shows rain right now for the weekend, but the weather forecast seems to be inaccurate unless it is like 1 day away).
How are the roads this time of year? Checked BC road reports and looks ok, nothing closed. Some fallen rock, etc. Thinking about doing just a short ride, up highway 1, then highway 8 to Merritt on Friday. Then come back on the Saturday.
I know the roads may have some gravel/sand, but would it still be a fun trip? Or is it going to be ass pucker the whole time not knowing if the road is going to be super dirty?
Thanks, when we moved here last April our bikes weren't here yet, so not sure on how far you can ride out of the lower mainland at this time of year!
