I've recently purchased an RC51 and have just started riding it gingerly around town, afterward I would notice wisps of light blue smoke from both pipes. At the time I chalked it up to residue in the pipes or cans after sitting some time (I had just installed a full Yosh RS-3 system). But after a more spirited ride, the smoke began to billow from under the tank and air box.
After pulling it apart, sure enough, a nice pool of oil in the air box. I went through the usual suspects, oil level, PAIR valve (the mod was done with block off plates), and overflow/vent tubes, and everything seemed fine. (aside from containing oil, no blockages though) and the bike has low KMs, so I doubt the rings would be pooched, and in both cylinders?
My question is, would the new exhaust system cause the motor to run so lean that it would create a vaccum? Or would the considerable backfiring influence this? And if so, is there a solution other than a Power Commander?
