Bought a pair of 10mm Vortex swingarm spools to be able to put my bike on the rear stand for washing/chain lubing etc, and noticed after a ride last weekend, that it appears the bottom of the stock exhaust pipe has made contact with the top of the right side swingarm spool.
No pics to post as of yet as my blackberry is out of commission, and the digital camera is nowhere to be found.
Just wondering if anyone with the same bike may have noticed the same problem? I have been browsing the Kawasaki forums and 2 members have posted the same thing happening, at the track mind you where they are riding quite a bit harder, and also carry a lot more weight than I do, but still the same problem of the pipe bottoming out on the spool.
I'm not sure if Kawi may have overlooked this and welded the lugs onto a bad spot on the swingarm, or maybe 'regular' 10mm spools are not to be used on this bike... although I haven't seen/read/been told anything to that effect since buying the bike.
Think this is something Kawi will look into repairing/remedying? I mean its no big deal to me, for one I selected the Akro Evo Exhaust performance package so the pipe will be changed anyways and I don't see the new pipe making contact as it theoretically should sit higher than the current stock can, and secondly, the spools cost me a whole $20 so I can either repaint the current one as its not bent or anything, just some of the black paint has scraped off of the top of it.
It hasn't dinted the can or put a huge gouge in it, its simply scraped the inside where I may have hit a pothole or gone over a bump or tracks or something. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem, and whether or not its something worth mentioning to the shop I bought the bike from or Kawasaki themselves...
Cheers, thanks in advance.
