Great... a flat tire riding along SW Marine drive....
Today has been quite the day indeed…. I manage to put a dime sized hole into my fresh new Pilot Power CT 2’s rear tire sigh….
So any riders going along SW Marine drive close to UBC better watch out for the construction, I am sure I got the puncture somewhere along there and didn’t notice it till I was on King Edward St. and Dunbar St. Took one of the slight turns before King Edward and Quesnel Dr. and started to shift to the outside of my lane… come to complete stop and notice my feet touching more closely to the ground and noticed my tire flat as can be.
What made things funny to me was the cop that was stopped in the cross street who didn’t seem to take notice of my flat tire as I hobbled by hahaha!
Time to call Bill at 5th Gear to get my bike picked up and a new rear tire installed hahaha!
that sucks dude! how'd you get home anyways?
popped my back tire last summer, i feel for you! i'm always careful around any kind of construction now haha.
I rode back slooowly hahahaha! I wasn't that far from my place, so roughly around 7km's away and normally takes a few minutes to get back, but it took nearly a half hour plus the added time of me getting off the bike, checking the rim, and looking at the rear wheel to make sure nothing was going funny.
It makes for an odd ride... I've ridden back home on flat tires on mountain bikes and dirt bikes and the only difference I found was the weight of the bike. Very little control and I let the bike move around mostly without fighting it much unless I was going into on comming traffic. x_X
I am going to avoid construction as much as I can now, and make myself a little google map of as many construction sites as possible so I don't keep riding through chopped up concrete.
