I just was swapping out my rear brake pads and the stock pads had a removable metal backplate with carbon piece.
They fit onto the replacement EBC pads, but with these backing plates
on there wasnt enough room at least on the non piston side.
Are these just spacers for pads that have less depth? Anyone?
Maybe I just figured it out. The pad backing is copper coated, and the clipon backplate is alloy of some sort... I think
it's to stop the piston caliper from sticking to the backplate from heat.... ??
Someone must know.
The new pads work fine... but don't have this feature. Curious about if anyone has had similar swap.
