I am not one to speak much on this forum. But I found a bike today that has me very intrigued. I am not interested in it for myself as I have a 625 SMC but its dam cool. I seen it at the KTM dealer in Bellingham. It looked kinda small so I thought it was a 250 or 400, but I loved that it had big Brembo brakes, WP suspension, Behr rims in polish 3.5/4.5 and 120/160 combo, Kiehn FCR and what looked to be an Akro Ti/carbon system. The plastic is all high quality painted charcoal grey so it looks great, however it has a fairing type front end which I am not normally a fan of as I like the dirt bike look, but this one grew on me fast. It sits low so I still figured it was a small displacement bike, and I could just not figure what engine it was, no water cooling but it was oil cooled.
Speaking to the slaesman he told me these MZs are made in Germany but use a Yamaha Raptor 660 engine. This bike looked so small I couldn't believe it was a big displacement bike. Great for us short stature SM riders that want big CCs. He said that this one was not very stock and they normaly do not have the great exhaust and the FCR. He saiid it was a 2006 and priced at $3900. Of course thats US$ and it is not RIV admisable so you would have to do the husky trick to get it in but it seems like a great ride for somebody to go get. Can beat being able to get engine parts at the yamaha dealer and suspension, brake, wheel parts at your KTM dealer!
This is the closest google image pic I could find of it. Just imagine it being very similar except Dark grey paint on plastics.
