Well enough is enough of work, rain, and the daily grind. Its been decided, myself and 2 others will be doing a grand tour of ID, MT, CO, AR, UT and back roughly June 21 to July 4 this summer. Anyone riding any 2 wheels is welcome to join, full or part. This will be Epic.
Route is open to change on the fly depending on weather/how we feel. The only gurantees are: Spiral Hwy, Lolo Pass, Bear Tooth Pass, Chief Joseph Hwy, Trail Ridge Rd, Mt Evans Byway, Zion NP, and Bryce Canyon NP. Camping 3-4 days then motel to clean up, but again flexible and weather dependant.
Pace will be however fast you feel like in the twisties, non-heat score in the straights, i.e. no plans to grab any Sherif bling.
As of May 25 the route is something like this: Part 1 and Part 2. Pointers very roughly correspond to stops but yes I realize some of the days just won't work out. I'll revise as the route gets more settled down (whichever Google engineer decided to have the program drop routing points if you ever change the end point arg...)
As for route settling down, by all means please everyone shout out route recommendations. I'm particularly interested in filling the blanks in WY and UT. Note we are not interested and will not be riding anything in WA, OR, or CA. Hitting WA is a means to an end only.
Cheers to Triplepete and elevation for posting ride reports, you'll notice our route is strikingly similar to theirs.....

Change to START DATE = June 20. The route now looks something like this: Part 1 and this: Part 2. I'll be riding up to Kelowna on Friday June 19 to meet the rest of the group and make for a shorter and less freeway "day 1" if you will. 13 days of riding over 15 days vacation so 2 days somewhere in CO or UT for hiking/resting etc. It's highly probable the trip home from UT will look nothing like as shown depending on when we get there and how many twisties we feel up to.
