I just had fiberglass race fairings painted (Thanks Leedam ) and I am waiting for the paint to cure before I throw them on.
Because I am using these fairings for the street, they are properly painted with numerous coats of clear.
Now my question is, my old fairings had some kind of foam padding on them to protect from heat damage and plus they were plastic..
How should I protect the fiberglass fairings from the heat coming of the exhaust header? I've heard people "wrap" the headers as well but what do they wrap it with and where can I get it locally? Or are there other ways to accomplish this as well?
The last thing I want is the paint being ruined by the heat.
