did my search, last CF thread was year(s) ago
Having too much free time on my hands, I made the decision to fabricate my own fiber parts. Do you guys know any local fabricators (that are willing to do a quick seminar for a case of )? Maybe my google skills are not up to par, but couldn't find much detail about fabrication, youtube didn't answer many questions either.
Anyway, found a local shop "fiber-tek" that should have most if not all the supplies I need. Any other ones worth visiting? I'm thinking CF for structural support, CF/S-glass composite for cosmetic.
As for vacuum bagging, will a HVAC vacuum do the trick or is there a special pump? Right now I have a 1/2hp rotary compressor collecting dust, how practical will it be to, say, water cool it and put together a makeshift vacuum? I've used that compressor to evacuate my home brewed AC unit but from what I understand, compressor oil will become acidic upon contact with moisture and short out the coils, is it possible to replace it with synthetic motor oil?
