Today started like any other day, nothing peaked my interested as to where/who to ride with, its supposed to rain so no plans, didn't even think of posting a loop ride. Called my brother in law who hadn't ridden in over 15years , since he sold his gold-wing. Invited him to come over for a BBQ . Show up early though ,we are going for a ride!
Spent the morning ride testing the 83 gs 750 which has remained dormant in the garage for at least four years. Realizing I needed a new battery , went C-Tyre and picked up what a new one for $56.99, a steal when I think back to the last one at $150+. Clearance deal I guess.
I charged her up and went for a rip . I was amazed at how the old beast handled, within 10k of what I run on the 1200 at on the same corners. I admit it took a little more hanging off, and slide control, front and rear but the old bitch can boogie!
Now we get to the good part. My brother in law shows up, get him all geared up. Give him the low down on the 750's quirks, and we are off. A lap of Ryder lake , and Chilliwack River road. The reverse route the speed picks up. we stop at the first stop sign, " that was fun" the look on his face , the smile on his face needs no explaination. we head home, have diner and a few brews. The man is talking' New bike!
You have got to love it !
Once a rider, always a rider!
