Discussion in another thread has prompted me to ask this.
I moved to BC in 96, after getting car and bike license in Ontario, in 92. 4 years of solid riding out east, and way before any graduated nonsense.
When I transferred my DL, they didn't transfer my bike license, just car. ICBC stated that no motorcycle license issued in another jurisdiction was transferrable to BC.
I wasn't planning on riding for a while anyway, so I didn't care at the time. But 10 years later, I bought my Gixxer, and had to do it all over again. Knowledge test, MST, and class 6 road test. At every step, I asked the question, and plead my case. But to no avail. I passed the tests, so it didn't matter anyway, but it was a pain in the ass. Not to mention the riding against restrictions ticket I got in the process.
Looking at ICBCs site today, it seems the rules have changed. Anyone else have to go through this in the past?
