Q: Can one recover from (medium speed) tank slapper by taking hands off handle and let it self correct when it happens?
http://everything2.com/title/Tankslapper (conclusion: relax the arms and let the oscillaton reduce naturally)
So far after googling a bit and doing search on bcsb I gathered that one can recover from tank slapper by loosening grip on handle bar and applying rear brakes slightly. Has anyone tested this? Also has anyone tried taking hands off handle bar during wobble, if so what was the result?
Other suggestions I found on net were:
- twist throttle and do a wheelie.
- hold handle bar tight and accelerate
- just accelerate
- hold handle bar lightly and pray
- apply rear brakes lightly and loosen grip on handle bar
- just pray
-- very light grip on bars, no input to bike, keep in mind that bike will correct itself.
