I just got my learners last week and am going to be doing the MSF course next month. I've just been going around buying up my gear, and obviously I need to settle on a bike pretty soon.
I've been wanting a BMW bike since forever, and I'm mainly just worried about picking a bike that's too much to handle. BMW doesn't really seem to have a 500cc-ish bike that appeals to me, style wise. The F650 is too utilitarian / tour-y, the 650 Xcountry looks pretty barebones and has that whole dual-sport motif, and they discontinued the G650 X-moto.
So there's the F800R coming out, the F800ST, and I've seen a few used F800S's kicking around. Would a newly licensed, MSF graduate be stupid to go straight to one of these three bikes?
