ICBC has decided that my beloved Sidekick is now a write-off since the damage surpasses its market value so I can only drive it for a few more months until I have to turn it in.
Since I am "between" jobs, I can't afford to get a new vehicle. I am looking for something economical and reliable. About 80% of my driving is in the city and maybe 20% on highways. My price range is around $5-6500 and I hope to find something no older than 2000.
So far, I have been looking at and considering Corollas, Civics and the Ford Focus. Because I really enjoyed being able to park my short Sidekick into small spaces, I have also been looking at the Echo/Yari but I am concerned about their handling as a result of small tires, light weight and a high profile.
Any recommendations and tips from your experiences out there?
Thanks in advance!
