thorston frame protectors
Any body hear of thorston frame protectors..
if so anyone know where its the best place to get them from, contacts or know anyone who has em.
i dont think they are as common as like vortex or sato etc.
for the rc51 they mount higher like about half way up the rad height and behind the rad towards the back of bike..
what did u have to move, or weld on to install these..
how much were they after tax and everything, what is that made of.. metal or plastic?? the slider??
im guessing if its metal its not a good slider to have cause more chance of bending frame??
u selling them at all??
You have to cut holes in the plastic of course.
You need to either remove the chunk of metal that holds the fast idle and fuse box or trim it down. I nipped mine down and in the last picture you can see where I tapped the slider and added a hose clip to secure the box.
I used the guide here and the putty and tape method to mark where to cut. http://www.rc51.org/index.htm
The slider itself is that very hard delrin type plastic. They were a couple hundred when I ordered them and included all hardware.
The only hitch in the process was I had to go out and buy a very long hex fitting for my ratchet to bolt them dowm.
These are staying right where they are. I found the best way to reach him was by email instead of PMs on various forums.
quite a bit of money, why did u buy them??
not many people know about these kinda sliders..
Not very many know him here. He is a genious IMO. Here's an example of what
Best choise of sliders as far as protection goes. It bolts close to the
frame for better protection.
