I have a 2003 600 RR, the problem is it won't start. I had the bike jump started and it will work fine as long as you don't turn the bike off. Since recently buying the used bike, I have replaced the battery, thinking it would have been just a simple battery replacement. WRONG. When i turn the key to ON, lights are functional, fuel pump/reg works, digital display is on. Although there are some things i have noticed about the bike and if wonder if anyone could help me diagnose.
1. Battery won't hold charge - bought new battery I properly charged the battery and tested it and installed it. Once installed, the battery would start the bike with no problem. After about 4 rides (turning on and off the bike) in the span of about 3 hours, the bike would not start again.
2. When idling the sound of the exhaust is not constant. It sputters but not heavily enough to sound like the bike will shut down.
3. I had the bike battery replaced a second time although with a replacement gel battery from Carter Motorsports. The first battery was from motomaster. This time it worked fine as like before, but when i was stopped at a light, my little red riding hood shut down on me. No lights, no fuel pump/reg noise, no digital display except for the clock.
If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated!
