Hello, I have been taught well by BCSC and the others on this board, that I always wear gear when I ride (even if it a short ride to work).
But..it is freaking hot out, especially when I get off work in the afternoon. I see a lot of others no wearing gear (as a matter of fact, it is rather the norm that I see that they don't wear gear and the one off that they do wear gear). Especially the guys riding cruizers - I rarely see them wear gear in this weather.
So...how come is it that I bike across the bridges from downtown Vancouver, and I see people on scooters - going just as fast as I am across the bridge. But they wear no gear whatsoever - I see lots of shorts, even skirts on scooters.
They are going just as fast as me, on a smaller 2 wheeled vehicle than me, but they are wearing a tank top, summer skirt and pumps?
I am so tempted to forgo my textile jacket in the afternoon.
