I just rolled in form a seven day 6,000 Km loop around the prairies. This was not a ride for those looking for tight twisties and high velocity sweepers but the countryside can be very interesting if you look around and take the road less traveled.
Day 1 : Vancouver - Lillooet - Hinton, Ab
Day 2 : Hinton - Edmonton - Prince Albert, Sk
Day 3 : Prince Albert - Flin Flon, Mb - Swan River
Day 4 : Swan River - Winkler
Day 5 : Winkler - Estevan - Kildeer - Glasgow, Mt ( no motels along the desolate border route in Sk)
Day 6 : Glasgow - Cut Bank - Pincher Ck, Ab - Cranbrook, BC
Day 7 : Cranbrook - Salmo - Nakusp - Vernon - Kamloops - Cache Ck. - Vancouver.
More miles than pictures and wild stories. But here are a couple that you may enjoy :
The big egg in Vegreville
Beautiful downtown Turtleford, Sk. Miles and mile of canola grow on the prairies - at least I think that's what the yellow stuff is.
The only lighthouse that I know of in Saskatchewan
Low flying aircraft at the side of the road. Don't forget to duck.
The old and the new in Pincher Ck, Ab
