    Question Dyno Tester

I am looking to re-tune my SV1000S, I have changed the mapping with my PowerCommander III but I would love to have a pro - tweak it on a dyno. Can anyone recommend a place in Van, I live in Burnaby but don't really care where (to a degree)
    Thanks!

Mike @ MAS seems to be popular around here.....no dyno "tuning" experience myself though.

Abby is as close as you'll get for a good tuner! Mike at M.A.S. Dyno Services. 604-825-2983

    Isn't MAS's dyno portable?

I think he only takes it to special events, where he's paid, or where there's a good chance to generate revenue.

    none :(
I have had very good results with Dave Lanigan at Speed Dealer Motors in Seattle. His shop is in the alley right behand Ducati of Seattle. He builds and tunes race bike so he gets lots of practice. He also has a Super-Flo 2000 dyno in a real dyno room.

Here are some photos of his shop:

^ Ya, if you are willing to venture over the border, there are many choices.

I think even Skagit Powersports does dyno tuning, and they are only about 1hr over the line

I seriously don't know why you'd go over the border when we have perfectly good tuners here. Unless Mike Velasco comes out of retirement to tune a bike, I'm going to venture that Mike Stronach is one of the best tuners from Portland, OR to all points north of that. And he's probably one of the top 5 or 10 from Cali north. Seriously. This guy has been tuning engines and making fuel maps for years and you don't get business if you are bad. He has the art and the knowledge to make an engine run very well.

have you done other changes like slip-ons or full exhaust, and air filter mods? if you make air/fuel mods before you get that custom map it will be more worth your money.

ya I have two bros exhaust, mod air box w/K&N, powercommander III and raised the tank. I have played around with the mapping but still I get some backfiring on downshifts and just feel it could be tuned better.

Give Cypress motorsports a call. They have a dyno and do dyno tuning. Dyno Dave is the guy you want to talk to. I have sent a lot of my clients to them and the results have been good. Mike is a good dyno tuner also but hard to get a hold of.
It's not just an oil change, It's an experience.

yea there's only so much you can do by yourself... you need a pro to tune it now.
