    My son's first bike.

Yamaha ttr50e. I agonized over getting the TTR, or it's smaller sibling the PW50. I'm glad I got the TTR.

    Lots of this happened.

But after about 30 min, he was off and running on his own.

Wow! I remember him when he was a little guy! Congrats!...

If you want a little piece of mind put a tether kill switch on the back with about 10-20 feet of string ...if it looks like hes going some where you dont want him to be going you pull the string and it stops the bike..

I will check with Steve if he has any left over gear from his kids

Wicked look at the grin on his face, kinda like when I was learning to ride dirt haha. I don't think I fell once without having a laugh about it. Good times ahead!

I can only surmise that the "2005" in your name is derived from your year of birth. You weren't born yesterday, but pretty damn close to it. - Howattzer to Phantom2005

HAH!!! Now that's the way to do it!

I really wish my parents were more into motor sports, as it was not until much later in life that I was able to enjoy them.

Now that little guy is going to have a great advantage and a set of skills that will help him later in life!

    Good job!
I don't want your forgiveness; I won't make excuses. I'm not going to blame you, even if you are an accessory. But I will not accept your natural order. I didn't come for absolution, I didn't ask to be redeemed, but isn't that the way it always is?

My son is 3, almost 4, and is 42 inches tall. The TTR will have tons of headroom, and I think he would have totally mastered the PW all in one day. The TTR has the throttle control just like the PW. We started him at a walking speed, and now I'm at a medium pace jog.

The TTR50E also has electric start which makes my job easier, so he can just learn to ride the bike. He can learn to kick start his next bike.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm looking forward to lots of camping / dirt-biking weekends with my family!
