Yay, finally bought my first bike today! Very excited!!
It's a [slightly] used 2007 Kawi Ninja 500R. Only has about 1500km's on the odomoeter. Clean title, no accidents, etc. ICBC says it's worth is about $5000.
So I also discovered today that I only had a 5% discount (ouch) in spite of my clean driving record for the past 7 years. I've only got to drive the family car here and there. And since the lovely ICBC only lowers your rate by 5% every year, I went from +30 to -5%... but boy did it take a long time.
Anyway, I bought $1mil 3rd party liability and $500 deductible. No collision. No theft. Should I have gotten theft? Even worth $500 deductible? Should I have talked to some private insurance brokers (but none opened on Sundays in the nearby area).
I paid $604 *with* a 5% discount... for 3 months. Does that sound right? It is only a 500cc though.
Looking to hear what your guys' thoughts are.
