Sick of having to use the choke for a good 4-5 minutes before taking off. Is this normal, even for a 2-year old bike?
Tonight I left my bike parked for a good 2-3hrs while I was having dinner at a restaurant, and when I got back, I had to put lots of choke on to keep idle high. After 3 minutes or so, the choke still needed to be half-way up. I tried to crank it down a bit more, but engine stopped. Had to start it up again, and the second time I did this, I had to push it back to full choke, and even then it barely started! I was sick of waiting and rode around with the choke halfway up. Is that really bad for the bike?
Another thought -- maybe I need carbs cleaned? (was reading some other threads about this) How often do they need to be cleaned? I think this bike at 1,500km hasn't had much service other than an oil change, and some other service(s) (will need to inquire) for storage last winter.
(Yes I need to get me a owner's manual, I just got this bike)
