So, first motorcycle "accident" i've been in.
I was riding at dusk with a buddy from Kamloops to Tobiano (new golf course out at Kamloops Lake). We were on the highway passing a couple cars on the double lane when a deer ran into my motorcycle. I ended up hitting it on the front left side of my 2004 Honda CBR600RR and my leg. If any of you have had speed wobbles up in the high RPMs... times that by 10 and thats what it felt like.
I managed to stabilize my bike after the collision and rode it immediately to the side of the road (leaving a trail of rad fluid). The deer was dead on impact and evidently went spinning in front of my friend's bike who was riding behind me. As I got off the bike, three cars pulled over to see if we were alright.
Apart from shock, I was unharmed. As for my bike, the front fairing was pushed up through the headlight assembly, and the side fairing on the left side was pushed through the side of the radiator.
After spending the day taking my bike apart and pulling deer fur out of the radiator, forks and fairings... I figure I need new fairings, radiator, headlight assembly, chain/sprockets, etc etc.
Anyone know where I can get some cheap parts?
