I have been adjusting the suspention height on my girlfriends f4i and am worried that messing with the telemetry of the bike could make it unsafe. The girl she got it from was very short and the bike was lowered alot. So after riding for a couple of months that way she wanted it up a bit so I adjusted the rear lowering link up. I got the stock dogbone and cranked up the adjustable link until it was about the same as the stock one. So now for the front and here is where I run into my concerns. I undid the pinch bolts and clip ons and jacked the bike up to the stock height acording to the shop manual and bolted it all back no prob, but the bike felt like you were riding a motard, bars felt way to high and way to much of an upright seating position.Mabey this is what an f4i is supposed to be like? , but my girl didnt like it and neither did I. So I slid the forks back up through the clamps about half of what they had been droped before and this seemed to help alot. Its still not as agresive as before but its not like riding a dirt bike. My main concern is at what point does lowering the front get unsafe? I have read that anytime you mess with this stuff you will change how the bike handles and it can possibly become unstable or prone to wobbles ,tank slappers ect.. . Anyone have any experiance or knowledge about this stuff ? I guess I might just take it to R.M.R. but figured I would see what I could do first.
