just looking for some wise words of wisdom from you BCSBers ...
I have an SV650 that's currently gathering dust, having lost the battle for my affections to my Speed Triple. Now, I haven't had a chance to hit any tracks yet, since I didn't get a chance to sign up for race school in time. But motards look like a lot of fun, too. If you have (or could have) a second track-use bike, would it be a track-dedicated SV or a dual-use motard?
Some tipping points:
- I could tuck my beloved and shiny triple in for the winter when it gets nasty, and ride the motard through the wet and salty months
- I'd have to find somewhere to wrench on my SV this winter to convert it to track status - a problem, being a condo dweller - though it would go light years in learning about my bike better. Always a good thing.
- Track days at Mission can be expensive. Motarding, from what I hear, isn't. (what, about $150 compard to $25 at a go-kart track?)
- I could just wait until next season and do some track days on both ... but I have no patience. I must ride NOW!
Anyone out there with experience on both kind of bikes? Cheers!
