Top right hand corner:- "Coming soon" and "Why am I seeing this "under construction" page?
I guess they're rebuilding the website....?

i'll say - it's not easy to lose control of a domain name. even if it expires it still takes about 45 days or so before the name is set loose to be grabbed by anyone who wants it. during that time the registered owner/admin is the only one who can renew it, albeit for a slight fee of around $150 or so.

Just checked the "whois" database on bcferries. Their record was updated today. I suspect either they didn't renew the domain and bought the domain back or there was a DNS snafu.

Things should be back to normal in a couple of days. Shea, I would phone BCFerries and tell them their website is gone and it may be hijacked. That should get someone to send a note to their IT people.

BTW if you need schedules, again just phone them up and tell them where you want to go and when. They'll help.

The BC Ferries phone number I have in my address book is (604) 921-7414.

My guess is you're using the standard DNS servers the ISP issues you. Try using the OpenDNS servers - WAY better. Site works perfectly from here

Bah, open DNS looks like it did not update its records.

BC Ferries probably laid off the guy that used to watch things like that don't happen.

Two different places resolve bcferries.com to the same IP:

BCFerries said their IT staff were screwing around and got the IP messed up. No worry they said, business is good and David Hahn still get to keep his 600k bonus.
fred 1) n. a person who spends a lot of money on his bike and clothing, but still can't ride. "What a fred -- too much Lycra and titanium and not enough skill." Synonym for poser. Occasionally called a "barney".
