I have been wanting to do two longer rides this year, the first was Duffy Lake Road which I did a few weeks ago, the other is the Winthrop ride.
This ride is the highest/best rated trip in the motorcycle Destination Highways Washington book, rated at 92.3 out of 100. The route is rated 30 out of 30 for twistiness and with fall fast approaching tomorrow's nice weather maybe my last chance. The only really negative is that it is long at about 650 kms round trip.
I would prefer to go with some more people (One friend and I are going for sure) so I thought I would post up and see if I can get any takers.
Meet: Tim Horton's Langley, east side of 200th street just south of hwy#1 across from the Chevron
Time: 0800 to leave by 0815am latest
Route: South through Sumas to Sedro Wooley, then South Skagit Hwy to Rockport then on to North Cascades Hwy to Winthrop. Finally return basically the same or faster route as alternate if we are tight on time.
This is a longer ride, pace will be sporty but also determined by group as I won't leave anyone behind.
Post if you are coming or PM me for my number.
