what a day. still in shock
heading out early to enjoy the probable last of the good weather for a while... was cruising across 88 heading towards Fort Langley.
as i am nearing 88 and 196a...its around 10am ...i am 100ft from there and i hear a BANG and see parts flying thru the air. A lady in a SUV heading east on 88
turned left onto 196a in front of a harley rider (male) and female passenger going west.
crash site. the bike and riders laying approx where A is
http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s ... 8&t=h&z=20
the bike/riders hit the rear right of the suv with their right side. basically sideswiped .. the suv side window blown out. bumper bent and rear
light gone....i was literally right there so i of course stopped...people in the nearby house and others attended to the wounded.
it looks like the girl may lose the right leg. the femur looked broken atleast once but the knee area was gone. just a hole and a bit of flesh.
mercifully the ambulance/help arrived quickly. for a while we thot the male was dead because they werent really working on him ..just her.
they got her in an ambulance...then they moved him. he wasnt dead but was really in bad shape. his right arm was busted up really bad.
the 2 riders were both in separate ambulances...i then hear a helicopter..thinking it was the news or traffic...it was an air ambulance.
it was coming for him. there was a field right across from the crash site and that is where they landed.
that was kind of interesting. seeing the chopper land in a field 100ft away.
both wearing no gear. both with little beenie "helmets" ... atleast they werent in shorts..mainly trackpants for her and jeans for him.
what a mess. hope the riders get patched up. still in shock. wont forget about this for a long time. cant forget the screams of the 2 riders as they were being moved.
be careful out there folks.
