Took a spill last night on my bike. I was heading south on highway 91 and took the offramp to merge onto Route 10 into surrey, about half way through something caught my eye in the middle of the road and my rookie skills led me straight into it. The back tire got thrown off the pavement and the bike stood up straight and led me into the outer curb/meridian. It was that moment I became very happy I was wearing my leather jacket, gloves, and helmet, and very angry I was wearing standard jeans. My left hip and knee took the brunt of the impact on the curb, It seems I landed on my head at one point as my helmet is missing a few chunks. My jacket is ripped but from how my arms feels WITH the pads, I couldnt be happier with how it saved my ass. Lesson learned, do not target fixate, I was not speeding excessively but I was still travelling at highway speed or slightly less when I hit whatever it was in the road. I never managed to find it, I still have no idea what it could have been.
I walked away with minor road rash on my elbow, hip, and knee, and some nasty bruises in the same places, otherwise unscathed. Time for a lottery ticket!
More pics of the bike when I get down to the yard to pick it up
PS: That is the good side, all fairings are destroyed on the right side from what I could see at night
