So i have been thinking about getting a race bike, and seems like the ones in the US (Seattle/Portland) area have much wider choice with a lot less pricing.
All that besides, i read through the "How to import your bike across the border" post, and some mentioned that get them to bring it across the border as you would never use it on the street, so a cheap fix to not paying taxes.
Now my question is how does it work if you want to take your bike across the border to go race in seattle/portland/spoke etc. Do they check the bike when you go across the border? What kind of paper work you need to go race down there. This would be in regards to a bike that you buy here or buy there and bring it here with or without the right papers.
Thanks for your replies in advance.
Edit: Oh to add to it, when you bring the bike across the border, i belive you only pay GST and PST is paid when you register it with ICBC. Could you register it with ICBC anytime or is there a time period it needs to be done within. What if you race it for a year or two and then for some reason you want to make it street legal, could you go do it with ICBC by registering it and paying the PST and inspection of course.
