If you didn't think you had enough commercials in your life... think again, because there's bound to be more soon.

All I can say, is praise the PVR!

I know it's slightly different, but I've been totally out of touch with commercials for a couple years now....I record what I want to watch, watch it at my leisure, and zap through commercials at lightning speed.

    Do I hear a hallelujah!

Forget the PVR. Praise newsgroups and bit torrent! Commercial free, great quality, and often downloaded by the same time (if not earlier than) the show airs on TV!
"Yamaha" - it's Japanese for "fuck your sports car."

Same here... sometimes I don't even record it, if I start 15-20 minutes later it's enough that by the end of a 1 hr show I don't catch up to the commercials.

TSRH. I don't even have cable tv anymore because of this. Pause when I want and don't need to think about forwarding through commercials.

Hallelujah brother! I'm the same way. I can barely stand to watch live TV anymore. I keep hitting that skip button and nothing happens. I seriously don't know what I'd do if I lived on the east coast, since those are the feeds that I record and then watch my show at regular time, but without the commercials.

I'm amazed people still pay for cable TV.

Me too. I don't even bother with it - if there's a program i want to watch I download it. Why pay to watch adverts?

    sold :/
I pay for cable TV, but my custom PVR also records some of my favorite shows, automatically marks the commercials, cuts them out, and then compresses to a more modern format.

At the same time, my favorite tv shows are torrented, based on their currently scheduled date-of-broadcast, filtered, and deposited into my PVR's "new shows" folder, whereupon meta data (episode description, name, actors, DVD cover and fan art) are all downloaded automatically.

This system also feeds the other TV/computer/my windows mobile phone.

I go through withdrawal if for some reason I'm somewhere with old fashioned commercials and not on-demand showings of current shows I'm watching and/or 100's of old defunct favorites.
