Help me out here, peoples.
I've just spent some fun time checking out the sportbike listing on the U.S. e-bay forum, and there's TONS of stuff available, all the way from perfeect rare exotics to your basic cookie-cutter stock R-6's.
Thing is, there are way many fiarly rare bikes (some Ducatis, Augustas etc.) that are beautiful sportbikes designed and built to be ridden the way a race-bred machine was intended to be ridden. Yet so many of them are two, three, four yeats old and have only 800 or 1200 miles on them!
What's with all these dudes out there??
They buy beautiful, exotic bikes made to be thrashed and then what - set them up on their coffee tables and just STARE at them? Polish and wax them once in a while?
I mean - WTF!
Maybe these are the types who have gorgeous trophy-wives that they never fuck either, just maintain, buy endless wardrobes for, pay for and take out for dinner (for show and tell) once in a while to impress their business buddies.
I just don't get it.
And in the end, unless the bikes are really, really rare/exotic and in perfect condition - they STILL depreciate to less than half of what the dopes paid for them in the first place!
Why don't they use the friggen things, ride the wheels off of them and have fun ... huh?
