So Translink doesn't want to reduce their huge salaries....or layoff any management (just 5% of low salary admin positions)....or even consider that the current levels of service are not sustainable (ie. not enough riders!!!)....no they want to expand even further adding:
-A new seabus just for the Olympic$
-7 more westcoast express cars
-48 more skytrains cars
and they have the nerve to freeze road maintenance....to give them more money for buses...
They say that there are transit fare hikes so the people riding the "loser cruiser" share the cost....but come on 5% of $3.75 = $0.19
Why such a small fare hike????....while people in vehicles are paying the majority of this tax grab....this unfairly penalizes the small business person...the employee who needs to drive...the non-profit group who drives elderly/disabled people around...taxis....trucks...couriers....etc etc etc
People driving cars are contributing: $65,000,000.00
People riding buses are contributing: $30,000,000.00
The provincial govt makes up the rest...
