On the news today the contractor said the pavement is a special coarse aggregate mix to enhance traction and drain water.
I guess this is why at squamish there is little threads of free rubber all over the tire that you can brush off with your hand.
Basically it looks like the tire is just being scrubbed off and air pressure 38 psi made it worse so I run 42 psi for the load I put on the tire since I weigh 280.
I looked at other bikes at starbuck's and all the softer compound tires were wearing the same but the harder tires did not have the free rubber builtup.
The volume of rubber kind of surprised me so I was thinking was I picking up rubber on the hot tire from the road as well as scrubbing it because the tire looks dark and open grained like a more aggressive rider had pushed it on a normal road surface.
