Sorry if I'm just bothering people with the super generic and I'm sure overused thread title but I'm unsure of what steps to take from here as I have killed my battery twice now trying to get my engine to turn over.
- 1990 Yamaha FZR600 (47,000~ km)
- Bike rode great over the season
- Have had the bike sitting with half a tank of gas for about 6 weeks
- Full maintenance has been done within 2-3000km
So I put the battery in last night because I wanted to go fill up the tank, stabilize it, do an oil change and wash it so I could get it ready for the winter but the engine wouldn't turn over. Fuses are all good, I hear engine noise but it just can't seem to get over that 1000 RPM and start the engine. I also heard a couple minor backfires in the pipe (really quiet compared to what you think when someone says "backfire").
I tried again after charging the battery tonight and same thing. I was hoping to cancel my insurance tomorrow since it's yearly and a new month starts on the 6th but it doesn't look like that's happening.
Any ideas of what I should do next?
Thank you experts!
