ok... so headed out to say hi to my buddy Andii at Action motorcycle school today thought I would stay clear of the slab and ride north of the freeway.
I'm on Barnston Drive East bound and I turn right on 96th Avenue. I'm in the right lane and I switch into the left lane.
just as I do that about a second or 2 later..
KAHBOOOOOOOM the 3 transformers at the top of the pole to my right explode. a huuuge blue electrical explosion.
I kind of freak and pinn it.
I'm now watching the power wires that have started to whip violently atleast 10 poles eastbound.
I look back up the road and coming towards me going the other way (is what I think is my wife and kids in our honda van- they were just at a bank appt in the area)
so I pull a uturn and rip after them. I didn't want them turning left under it. anyway I catch the van and its not them. ;p
going back and looking at it all again noticed that the pole is snapped in half and its in lane position 1 in the right hand lane. I stopped at the snowmobile dealer and see about 10-12 people gathered and watching. So I stop and ask the guy why pole is snapped in half he tells me a toyota pick up hit it and took off. I told him i"yeah it scared the shit out of me when I rode past a minute ago and the transformers exploded" He says " that was you?" I'm like "yeah??"
he says "dude that f**king pole just missed you it came down right behind you"
I was totally shocked.... I had no idea....
I mean I cranked the gas right after the explosion and got the fuck our of there. lol
thinking back... I was in that lane not 2 - 3 seconds before but I switched lanes.... not really knowing why since I needed to turn right eventually. anyway on the way back I took a picture of it of the emergency crews fixing it. I took it from the Cummings parking lot to the right of the pole.
