Harper has decided to go to Copenhagen after saying he was not. We face the same ruin as the U.S.A. if he signs this treaty.
If you agree with this letter say so. Not just here but by posting your own letters to news papers, to government officials, TV stations, friends and neighbours or even just here but do something.
There is a lot of decent about what is going on here so do something other than just complain on an anonymous bike forum. You can make a difference you know if you let some one else know...speak your mind. Its your right and duty... for now. Do it before you lose it.
agree or disagree
Dear Prime Minister Harper,
I am very much against your decision to attend the Copenhagen summit. Especially in light of the bogus science that seems to be driving the climate issue. It is imperative that our government hold off on any agreements until a complete investigation can be done on the validity of emissions causing global warming.
Many of us in BC are not happy with paying carbon taxes when the science the taxes are based on is corrupt. Frankly sir, Canadians in general are getting quite fed up with corruption on a whole.
Stand by your initial decision and do not go to Copenhagen. The Copenhagen agreement will allow a foreign government to intrude in our domestic policies, laws and economic stability. The current email leaks from Britain has the U.S. congress initiating investigations and we demand you do as well. It is not reasonable to entertain negotiations with foreign governments that will forever change Canada's ability to govern herself, without full disclosure, full investigation of the facts and the full support of the Canadian people. In fact it is criminal to sign away any part of our sovereignty with such a firestorm of debate on the very issues that prompted the summit in the first place. It is criminal to sign away our sovereignty at all for any reason.
Cap and Trade is not for Canada. Millions of Canadians know it is a money grab by foreign interests. We know it is about money and resources. Its about control and interference in a sovereign nations economy. Not all Canadians are buying the bill of goods that is being sold to us under the auspices of a central global governing body trying to save our planet from the evils of industry and manufacturing. The science driving cap and trade may very well be completely wrong. I can't imagine all the secrecy surrounding the data and what looks like a conspiracy to hide and change relevant evidence would have occurred it the science was "finished", "debate was over" "human attributed global warming is a fact". When you discover a bad smell Mr. Prime Minister, you will always find something rotting sir. In this case it may just be Co2 causation for global warming, or even global warming itself.
Canada has always stood independent on the world stage with our own ideas and principals. We have always stood proud and remained stead fast to do what is right, what is fair. Even when pressured by world leaders to do otherwise we stood tall and stood strong. We hired you to think for yourself and to put the interests of Canadian's first. Do not fold under outside pressures. You are the leader of a great nation. Don't let Copenhagen be your legacy. When the worlds investigations of the global warming scandal is complete and we know one way or another what is causing any apparent climate change. Is it natural, man made or happening at all? You will be judged by Canadians for any premature decisions or agreements you make so you don't want to be on the wrong side of the issue. By then any treaties that have been signed will not be able to be revoked. It will be too late.
The Copenhagen agreement erodes our rights as a nation and as individual people. Something this wide reaching, this intrusive into the intimate affairs of a sovereign nation and indeed into the very daily lives of it's citizens must not be entered into amongst raging controversy over the very issues that prompted the summit in the first place. It shouldn't be entered into at all.
I submit Mr. Harper that Canada is well able to govern its own affairs and be globally responsible without signing away our rights to a foreign body with no interest in Canada but her resources and money.
Stand up for us first. Put the interests of the Canadian people first Mr. Prime Minister as is your mandate by the people of this great nation. If you won't stand for the people who will? The global village is made up of smaller villages called countries. If you act responsibly to respect, protect and prosper Canada's resources, environment and peoples you will be contributing to enhance the global village without selling us out.
By signing or even attending the Copenhagen summit you are saying to the people of Canada that you are unable to responsibly govern and manage Canada on your own and need help from those outside our nation.
YOU! were elected to set Canada's foreign and domestic policies Mr. Harper not to hand it off to a foreign government.
