Modern engines no longer require 1000KM initial oil changes and service intervals can be as high as 30K miles and 2 years??!!
The dealer is telling me the first service shouldn't be done until 5K. When I check the Skoda forums all the Brits think changing it before 15K is wrong, even for the initial service. The car in question is a Skoda Octavia which shares a lot of VW parts. Anybody here purchase a recent VW and get similar advice? The owners manual mentions breaking in the engine, but no mention of an early oil change.
