Hello everyone, I know this happened a few weeks ago but it was on the local news and radio stations. I was debating whether to post this or not being it so close to home. As it has been on the news, I think its pretty safe to post it now.
But does anyone remember hearing anything about a security guard at BCIT being sent to the hospital? That was me... as you can tell I'm OK.
Ill make the story short, at the end of my shift I got a call to attend the east parking lots because two well known Crack Heads were breaking into the ticket dispensers. They stole alot of money out of them (throughout vancouver) and they have been on site alot of times but never caught.
I was going to attend by myself but my friend called me to pick him up so we got to the scene and saw these two guys with a crowbar trying to pry open a dispenser.
My friend told them to stop but they walked away, I tackled the taller guy (around 6'2 170+ pound, 37? year old caucasian crack head) me being only 5'5 1/2. My friend went for the older guy (smaller around 5'8) but he had the crowbar.
He punched me a couple of times and remembered him yelling at his friend to HIT HIM HIT HIM! I remembered the older guy passing my friend and swinging the crowbar at me, I felt something on my back but the strange thing about it was that my brain didn't register where I got hit...
At the same time that taller guy was punching me, Instead of tripping him, I threw him on the ground where he tumbled across the road we were at. I jumped on him again where he continued punching, kicking you name it (I did not throw one punch just tried to arrest this guy by putting him on the ground). He nearly broke my finger so I got my hand lose from him and I can remember Smashing him on the back of the head with my right elbow a few times, Which bloodied up his face...
Then I grabbed his left arm when he was face down on the ground and put him in an arm hold. Luckily my friend had the other guy in an arm hold.
It seemed like forever but a few minutes later the morning shift guys came and assisted. I let go of the guy I had because the guard that helped me out took over the arm hold and was ALOT bigger then me.
When I got up I had a head rush and the first aid attendant told me to lie down until the ambulance came. They took me to VGH emergency to see if I had any spinal problems but I had none and released me.
The guard that took over the arm hold for me broke his hand when the guy I had broke free and tried to stab him with a needle.
This talk about thieves stealing bikes and cars etc made me want to post this here.
I just want to catch the bastard/s that tried to steal my bike though!
Take care out there
