I've done some research on recieving free HDTV broadcasts locally. Most people can receive 3 channels , CBC, CTV and CHECK all in pure uncompressed digital format...suppose to be a better picture than sat and cable due to no compression of the signal. People who live close to the border are suppose to be able to pick up stations from Bellingham and Seattle. Some people have just used an old fashioned set of rabbit ears and others have a DIYS antenna or purchased an antenna specifically for OTA HD. Has anyone tried this at all? I currently don't have cable tv anymore, the monthly payments were killing me, especially the HD programming. This free to air looks like it's worth a try , especially since the Olympics are being broadcast CTV.
