Imagine a yearly poll with a list of moderator names, and we, the people, get to vote one of the mods 'off the island', so to speak. After a set time period, the 'winner' of the poll is stripped of their mod-powers, and marched naked through the streets, where they are then pelted by rotten fruits and fermented fish guts.
Sure, some might see it as a reverse-popularity contest, but really I think this would introduce some much-needed bipartisan mechanics to ensure a better BCSB. As it stands now, there's really not much accountability, and with the occasional bit of discontent being voiced, I think this needs to be addressed. If a mods' actions actions consistently displeases the masses, shouldn't there be some way for the 'immune system' of BCSB to identify the agitating agent, and remove it?
We can then have another take their place. Passing of the torch. Death and Rebirth. The cycle of life.
This needs to happen.
