I have a 2005 ZX12R with approx 7700kms on it. Sadly I laid it down, what I thought was very lightly. A mirror, a cracked and scuffed right side fairing, swcuffed clutch cover, and muffler. I rode the bike with no problems at all to the shop. I get the call today that they want to write it off!!! So the blue book value on my bike is $6500, retail is $7800. here's the kicker....they figure it's $7500 damage! WTF????? Ok granted the muffler alone is $1700, but a panel or two, and a clutch cover makes up the rest?
So there it is, they'll offer me $6500 -$500 for deductable leaving me with $6000 to try to replace my bike (impossible!) or they said they may be able to squeak the estimate down enough to approve a repair, however my bike will have a massive claim against it even though if the bike was parked in front of you, you'd have to look very close to even see it's been down!!
What would you do????
