If we're minding our own business walking down the street and a cop pulls up and asks us to either 1.) identify ourselves just verbally or 2.) produce identification, are we required to comply?
This question was raised a while ago and I was thinking about it after that video in the open forum. However, when the question was raised a while ago, it was mixed with US laws and speculation.
I know that some time ago, law says that we are not required to carry ID, but it doesn't say anything about having to prove our identity via another means. Would I be arrested if I don't comply? (which I can see as justifiable in certain cases.) I'm not sure if any of this has changed since I last looked it up.
