question about radar
How does radar work in realtion to the crusier? Does it have to take the crusiers speed into account to get a proper reading on another car? And if so how does the radar unit get the cruisers speed?
The radar displays a "target speed" and a "patrol speed". The computer in the radar unit takes the total speeds involved...the target speed and the patrol speed, subtracts the patrol speed from the total and what is left is your speed.
The antenna in the front or back windows send the selected beam out. In stationary mode they only use the target speed. In the moving mode they do the calculations above. Some units gets the patrol speed from the radar beam and others use a hookup to the speedo unit/transmission of the Cop car. One of the ways to verify that they have a corret target speed reading is to compare the patrol speed against the calibrated speedo in the Police car. If they are consistant, then it's just another way to confirm the target speed displayed.
thanks, i have a court case comming up and this will help
