I am new to BC from SK, and I would like to verify that my motorcyle (2004 GSX-R 600) is legal in BC.
I have installed amber front flush mount signal lights and an integrated tail light with amber LED signals. The tail light is 'continuously burning' at maybe 50% power, and full power when braking. When the turn signal is activated, the red LED lights on that side go out and amber LEDs blink. It can be seen at the 45 degree angle. This is a gif I found of my exact tail light.
The front has amber flush mount signals that are not continuously burning. They were never a 'running' light, even with the stock set up. They can also be seen from a 45 degree angle. Flush mount picture:
Now, what I do not know is if I the signals are visible from 100 m on a clear sunny day as the MVA suggests. It is not likely that factory signal lights can be seen a CFL football field distance away. Also I have heard that in BC integrated tail lights are illegal as there is a minimum distance that must separate the tail light/brake light and the turn signals. Any truth to that?
How stringent are police in enforcing lamp issues? I realize the need for safety and to be seen by other motorists, but there are far better ways to make yourself more visible on the roads.
Any information regarding the turn signals/integrated tail light would be great.
