This Is Going To Hurt A Little Bit
Ya, no kidding....144kph, damn, that's fast on that lil sled!
so who was responsible for course safety and design - leaving a steel pole un-padded right in the 'line of fire' ... ?
Maybe the same person who gave BC the initial security budget estimate at 176m ?
I doubt padding would have mattered at those speeds. It doesn't look like a great spot for the supports but at those speeds if he hits any type of wall or net there's a good chance it's going to be fatal.
Church doors are always open to whoever wants to enter, but they're only open to those who are willing to be sheep. The service of God is really service to those self-proclaimed holy men who hold the franchise. Accumulating material grandeur is the goal, not the improvement of the people's lives. Independent thought is discouraged. Raising the individual up is not part of the plan; keeping the flock docile, distracted, and deluded is what it's all about.
Also heard that there was an unoffical world record set on the track the other day. Something like 150k's an hour...
saw the video immediately after it happened. i think he died on impact and would have to agree that no amount of padding would have prevented his death or critical injury. sad indeed.
RIP, poor guy did not even get to fulfill his dream. very sad. My thoughts go out to the family and other Olympians. I hope its only good news from here for the rest of the games!
The course is one of the fastest ever built and Luge is known to be quite risky.
My Photo Gallery!
WOuld there be a way to slow the track down?
Reformatted to fit your screen.
There is a video of the American team stating that the track is good...fast, but good and there are faster tracks in the world.
Some talk about the person killed was not the most experienced. Rogge was quite emotional during the presser.

Not sure why they don't just put up plexiglass walls above the lips 4' up or so. It's not like it's going to affect anything. If you're hitting the glass, you would have probably been screwed anyways. They have them in hockey, why not luge at critical points?
Too sexy for this forum.
