Ok boys here is a new problem for you guys to chew on.
My 01 R1 has been garage stored and run at least every two to three weeks through the winter. I would let it warm up to temp and sometimes even a quick rip around the block.
I noticed as the winter was progressing that it was starting to sound just a little off. It has just a bit of a hiccup and when it idles its not as smooth as it was.
I changed the oil, cleaned the k&n, replaced the plugs and a fresh tank of 94 octane went in.
Now here is the part that i overlooked, with the gas i put in STP fuel injector cleaner (carbed bike). I grabbed the wrong bottle and didnt notice till i started retracing my steps as to why now its running worse.
I never gapped my plugs assuming that they were good.
Normally i would say to anybody take it to a shop and have a tech do it. But with house, car payments, a 2 year old and 1 with the possibility of twins on the way my wife has my TOY spending is under tight wraps.
Im wondering if i should pull my plugs and check the gap with a fresh tank of gas to see if that makes a difference. Or maybe just a good rip will clear out the bugs.
