I am getting a dirtbike again and am torn between starting with an MX focused bike, or a more trail friendly (with E start) option.
My last bike was a YZ 250F with a flywheel weight, and suspension set up for trails, and it worked pretty awesome. Although on some of the gnarlier stuff up at places like Vedder, there were a few times when I had troubles where an E start would be nice (repeated stalling, then getting sweaty from kicking). But at the same time, I don't want to be unable to hit the tracks.
I imagine I will do about 75% trails and the rest MX, and while I was set on going with another MX bike (YZ, SX-F, CR, etc.) I starting thinking that if the most of my riding was going to be trails, it might make more sense to make a trail bike like a WR or CR X more MX friendly. Then remove the E start and headlight stuff for MX days.
Any thoughts on what the better platform is?
