As a few people seem to be interested in a slower paced ride than what is planned this weekend I decided to organize a small ride.
When: Saturday, March 6th. Meet @ 9:45, Leave @ 10:00
Where to: Squamish Backroads to Whistler Backroads then home.
Why: Its sunny!
Meeting point: Petro Can Gas Bar 2196 Marine Drive http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&sourc...h&z=16&iwloc=A
Pace: Laid back, Definitely beginner friendly!
There are a few meeting up in surrey prior to the ride:
Chevron on 152nd by Guildford mall. Departing at 9:15.
Ride should end up being ~200km, will adjust length and road type depending on how the group feels. The pace will be adjusted to whatever feels right for the group. Probably stop in a few spots for a quick brake depending on how everyone feels and coffee when coming south through Squamish if people are needing it.
* There are no more cones or coppers on the highway, they removed them all yesterday and only the hill climb has some. There is access to whistler without a pass now, some warm clothes would be a good idea in case it gets chilly in the mountains. Gravel is very scarce over the whole route, I ride the area daily and will adjust pace as negligible road quality comes and goes.
My bike celebrating the lack of cones.
